Dwayne Bravo and I are only friends: Natasha Suri

West Indian cricketer Dwayne Bravo, who reportedly broke up with girlfriend Regina Ramjit, was recently rumoured to be dating actress Natasha Suri.

Squashing the rumours of a link-up between them, Natasha released a statement which labeled the gossip as “bizarre” and insisted that they are only friends.

Here’s what Natasha had to say:

“There are some bizarre stories floating around about cricketer Dwayne Bravo and I, which compel me to make this statement.

He is a friend and it is always wonderful to catch up with him. While the ‘friends’ tag might be a cliché to most, that’s actually exactly what it is in this case. He is a great guy, an accomplished cricketer and a talented singer. But we are not dating. My focus is entirely on my work right now. I am shooting for a film currently and hope to make a mark as an actor. Love is the last thing on my mind at present. My career and my family are my priority.

When you see both of us smiling together in a photograph, or just having a conversation somewhere, it doesn’t mean we are romancing. Why is it difficult to believe that two people from the opposite gender can just be friends? Also, just because I have shot some bold new pictures, people may have this impression that I have a very colourful personality, however in reality I am actually fairly traditional. Whilst I feel it’s absolutely okay for anyone to get in and out of relationships as they please, I am personally not wired to have frivolous encounters. I have chosen to have very very few romantic relationships in my life. So I find it funny, when I see my equation with a friend being given a romantic angle. I would respectfully urge members of the media to please not attach unrelated portfolio images of mine and make up a story. Thank you.”
