Karishma Tanna is currently at the peak of her career. She is rumoured to be essaying the role of Madhuri Dixit in Sanju, a film based on the life of superstar Sanjay Dutt. The rumours about her character started doing the rounds even before the film dropped its first teaser.

However, Karishma Tanna could neither be seen in the teaser, nor in the trailer of the film. She has also not participated in any of the promotional events for the film, unlike her other co-stars. When asked about her part in the film, the actor remained tight-lipped. While talking to The Indian Express, she just said, "All I can say is that it’s a very important role but I really can’t talk about it."

When asked about whether she is unhappy about her absence from the teasers and trailer of the film, Karishma said, "Not at all. From the time I met Raju sir (Raju Hirani), I knew what I was signing for and how my character will get promoted. So there’s no reasons for getting upset or feeling bad.”She further added, “Raju sir had made it clear to me that my role would create a lot of speculation and I am actually enjoying all the buzz and curiosity. This is exactly what we had anticipated.”

Dodging the question about whether she is playing Madhuri Dixit in the film, Karishma said that she would love to play the dhak dhak girl if ever her biopic is made. She went on to say, "Madhuri ma’am is a great star and I would love to do her biopic. It’s magical to see her perform, especially when she dances. I also have the same passion towards dance and I think it would be a dream come true moment for me.”
