Priyanka Chopra gets notice for illegal construction

BMC sent a notice to owner a commercial premise, actor and the Padrma Shri awardee Priyanka Chopra, at Oshiwara in Andheri (West) for unauthorized construction in the premises of her officer and her another adjoining commercial premise which she has rented out.


BMC said that they have received five complaints from people who visited the Charisma Beauty Spa and Salon along with a municipal corporator. They alleged illegal alteration on ths spa along with an unauthorized mezzanine floor. BMC check the premises and found the violations. BMC also checked the adjoining premised which is stated to be use as office by Chopra family and found violations there too at Vastu Precinct building. BMC send two separate notices to the owners-occupants of both the premises.


Manik Soni, manages the spa who told the BMC official that he had took the premise on rent after entering into agreement with Chopra and her mother.


 


When Media called Soni for his reaction on Monday evening, his representative responded the call stating that they are tenant at the premises and he promised to provide their reply after half an hour but didn’t call back.


Unauthorized erection of full height partition cabins by ply-sheet and glass walls, unauthorized amalgamation and illegal construction of mezzanine floors. Common violations were found in both the commercial premises.


 


They asked to remove the illegal alteration and restore the original structure according to the BMC sanctioned plan in June 2013, or they will demolish the structure after a month. The actor has option to regularized some of the irregularities after paying penalty.


A senior BMC official said, “We earlier wrote them asking to regularize the unauthorized changed after paying the penalty and removed other illegal changes which cannot be approved. But they didn’t bother to pay any attention after which we sent them notice under the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act (MRTP). If they fail to reply on this, we will demolish the illegal construction at both the premises.
