Bhumi Pednekar is on a roll with a number of films lined up for the near future. She is currently in a happy space owing to the success of her last two films, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.Talking about her Toilet co-star Akshay Kumar in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, Bhumi said, "He taught me some big life lessons and is a great role model." She further said that she found a life coach in her hero who made her understand that along with success and stardom, money and power, one needs to be grounded, dedicated, happy and respectful towards people.
Bhumi will be seen in the upcoming dacoit-drama Sonchiriya. The film also stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Manoj Bajpai in lead roles. The film is extensively shot in the extreme conditions of Chambal. Speaking about it, she said, "I prepped for three months, getting the dialect and body language right, but there’s more to my character than just placing her in a certain region. When I started shooting in the Chambal ravines in January, I didn’t know what to expect as we haven’t seen much of the terrain in films, with the exception of Bandit Queen and Paan Singh Tomar. It was a surreal experience." She, however, did not reveal if she is playing a dacoit in the film.
Bhumi was all praises for her Sonchiriya co-stars. She said, "It was one of my toughest films, but all of us would look forward to the shoot. I was motivated by Sushant (Singh Rajput) and Manoj (Bajpayee) sir, they’re phenomenal!"Apart from Sonchiriya, Bhumi will also be seen Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal, Taapsee Pannu and Ayushmann Khurrana. About the film, she said that it is a great script, and she is excited to watch it on the big screen.
