Aishwarya Rai & Abhishek Bachchan attend Shweta Bachchan's father-in-law Rajan Nanda's last rites

Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan's daughter Shweta Bachchan Nanda's father-in-law Rajan Nanda passed away yesterday. He was Raj Kapoor's daughter Ritu Nanda's husband. He has been the Chairman and Managing Director of Escorts Limited, since the year 1994. Nanda was declared brain dead at a hospital in Gurgaon yesterday night. Rishi Kapoor's daughter Riddhima Kapoor Sahni confirmed the news on her Instagram page and wrote, "You were & will always be a legend! Thank you for all the love always - will miss you so much uncle - until we meet again..."

 Today, the last rites of Rajan Nanda were held in the city and the family members marked their presence for the ceremony. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan were seen arriving at the last rites ceremony dressed in white. They have been a pillar of strength and support to Shweta and her husband Nikhil Nanda, who has been bereaved.

Rajnish Sharma, who has been Nanda's associate tweeted, "Dear FB and Twitter friends, I need to share a very sad news. Our ESCORTS Group Chairman Shri Rajan Nanda is no more. An era comes to an end. May his blessed soul rest in peace. — feeling sad."

 Kalyani Saha Chawla, who is close to the Nanda family also tweeted, "So very sad to hear the passing away of Rajan Nanda. A great husband , father and grandfather , one of India’s greatest industrialists and a keen listener and advisor. Will miss you, rest in peace..."
