Sobhita and Zoya pair up for a mini series

Kaalakandi (2017) actor Sobhita Dhulipala is excited about her next project, a mini series. The actor, who has been a part of Nawazuddin Siddiqui-starter Raman Raghav 2.0 (2016) is thrilled to collaborate with Zoya Akhtar as she thinks the film-maker and her thoughts align and are in sync.

Talking about the project, a source close to the actor reveals, "Zoya has been busy with her next film, Gully Boy, but she has also been simultaneously working on this mini series. Her last release, Lust Stories, too, was an anthology of short films that released on an OTT platform. In the series, Sobhita plays a wedding planner from South Delhi as the show is set in the Capital and it explores complex relationships. The shoot has been wrapped up and it will release sometime this year."

Talking about working on the digital medium, Sobhita says, "I've been an admirer of Zoya's work and it is lovely collaborating with her. It's a great time to push the boundaries of storytelling, I'm thrilled to be collaborating with such a credible team of writers, directors and crew! After having spent over a year shooting for it, I'm quite attached and am beyond excited to share it soon."

While she says the experience was pretty much the same as that on a film set, working on the digital space does come with it's share of advantages. "It was shot like any film would be shot, albeit we shot for a lot more content/screen time. The fundamental difference being, emotions were expressed as they are, without being needed to be dumbed down for faster consumption or out of fear of being amputated through our country's censorship system", says Sobhita who is currently pursuing a degree in Economics from Oxford University.
