There had been a great furore over the release of Baahubali : The Conclusion in Karnataka after a pro-Karnataka organisation Karnataka Rakshana Vedike stated to stall the film's release unless its actor Sathyaraj tender apology to people of Karnataka for his comments against them during Cauvery water crisis. With Kannada Producer Council too stood beside the KRV, the makers of Baahubali had been on tenterhooks for the couple of weeks.

Rajamouli himself apologised on behalf of Sathyaraj in a video message and appealed to all Kannadigas to not "punish" Baahubali for Sathyaraj's personal comments that he had made long ago - some nine years ago. Rajamouli had asked not to stop the film that was result of hard work of several technicians, other actors, producers who worked for five years for film.

Close on the heels, Sathyaraj had tendered apology at last. In what could be a happy ending, Sathyaraj stated that he is sorry if he had hurt anyone and said he is not against to anyone personally. Sathyaraj said he had made those remarks nine years ago during Cauvery water crisis. And he urged not to stop the release of Baahubali 2.
