Shraddha Kapoor will play Saina Nehwal in biopic based on badminton

Mumbai beauty Shraddha Kapoor who is playing the role of Haseena Parkar, the sister of terrorist Dawood Ibrahim in upcoming movie Haseena: The Queen of Mumbai,  is set to reprise the character of  popular badminton star Saina Nehwal in upcoming biopic.

Now days, trends of making biopic in Bollywood has become common.  Paan Singh Tomar, Sarabjit Singh, Milkha Singh, Mary Com, Mahendra Singh Dhoni , and many others have been made in past.  Another most awaited biopic on legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulakar is also arriving at the theaters on 26th May.

Amole Gupte, the creative director of ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and director of  Stanley Ka Dabba and Hawa Hawaai is going to  helm the biopic of Saina Nehwal where Shraddha will play the lead role.

The actress has confirmed the news and said, “I feel so lucky as i got the opportunity to play Saina who’s not only the world's No. 1 badminton player, but also a youth icon. I am very excited to join the set.”

On the other side, Saina also said, “I was aware of the biopic but I didn’t know about the casting. It is great if Sharddha Kapoor plays me because she is very talented  and hard working actress. I am confident that she will do justice to my character in the movie.”
