Tamil comedy actor Alwa Vasu passes away

Hyderabad AUG 18 : Veteran Tamil comedy actor Alwa Vasu, who had worked in around 900 films, passed away on Thursday night around 10.30 pm due to ill-health at Meenakshi Mission Hospital. He was suffering from liver failure and his condition had remained critical for the last few days. The actor came in  limelight after his performance in the 1994 blockbuster 'Amaidhi Padai'. Alwa Vasu has acted in numerous character and comical roles and is best known for sidekick roles alongside popular Tamil comedian Vadivelu.


 He is survived by his wife Amudha and daughter Krishna Jayanthika.  The actor was last seen playing a serious character in Vetrimaran’s ‘Visaranai’, which was nominated by The Indian Government for the Oscar Awards in 2016. We pray for the departed soul to rest in peace.
