Hyderabad : Zareen Khan shares snippets from her journey in Bollywood.Little did one little tomboy, born and brought up in Mumbai, knew that years down the lane, she would stumble into the starry, prodigious world of Bollywood, essaying the role of an adorable, ever so graceful princess, in a dream debut with Salman Khan.Seven years later, Zareen Khan has indeed made a place for herself in the industry, with movies like Houseful 2 and Hate Story 3, and music video Pyaar Manga Hai with Ali Fazal, among others.


Zareen Khan, who will be next seen in Aksar 2, shares snippets of her journey so far and aspirations, in a candid chat Destiny’s play Acting was never in the cards initially, says Zareen.“I had other plans and was focusing on it when life surprised me with Bollywood, that too with a dream debut,” the actor says.She got her break into Bollywood through Salman Khan starrer Veer. Apparently, Zareen was spotted by Salman Khan when she was attending Subhash Ghai’s film school Whistling Woods.Khan thought she would perfectly fit in as the 19th-century princess.


Learning experience,For Zareen, every day is a learning experience.“I debuted in 2010 and it has been seven years now and there is still a long way to go. The debut role in Veer is closer to my heart. From being a typical tomboy to grooming myself into essaying the role of a princess, it was indeed a challenge“I came to the industry with no background and hence, had to start from the scratch. There’s more to explore and learn,” the actor says.


“This was never my dream. But I consider myself lucky now that I’m in the field and looks forward to doing roles where I can prove my acting potential. I wouldn’t want to restrict myself to Bollywood either. I’m open to doing interesting movies from different languages,” she says, adding that she would love to do roles like that of Kareena Kapoor’s in Jab We Met and Kangana Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu.The actor made her debut in Punjabi with the 2014 movie Jatt James Bond.Zareen’s upcoming movie is Aksar 2, sequel to 2006 film Aksar.Directed by Ananth Narayan Mahadevan, starring Gautam Rode and Abhinav Shukla, the movie is slated for release on October 6.“We all had a great time shooting for the movie. The schedule wasn’t long and everything went on smoothly and we could wrap it up on a satisfying note,” she says.
