Actor Nikhil has signed Kanithan remake

Young actor Nikhil scored some remarkable hits in the recent years. His last outings Ekkadaki Pothavu Chinnavada and Keshava have been commercial hits and the actor has interesting films lined up.and he is currently shooting for the remake of hit Kannada film, 'Kirik Party', has signed yet another remake.

Makers of Tamil film 'Kanithan' approached Ravi Teja for the remake initially. As he was busy with other projects they have approached Nikhil.  Tamil version producer Kalaipuli Thanu, director Santosh are going to remake the film in Telugu.  On the other hand, Nallamalapu Bujji.. Tagore Madhu are said to be trying for the remake rights of the film for Nikhil. 

Kanithan traces the story of an investigative journalist who uncovers a crime syndicate selling forged diplomas. Catherine Tresa played the female lead in the Tamil film.
