DeepikaPadukone replaces PriyankaChopra in Don3

Deepika Padukone is grabbing the eyeballs since the past couple of days owing to the controversies surrounding the release of her upcoming Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Padmavati. The actress has made it to the headlines once again, but this time it's not for Padmavati but for Don 3. If rumours are to be believed, then Shah Rukh Khan has asked Farhan Akhtar to rope in Deepika for Don 3, thereby dropping Priyanka Chopra from the third film of the Don franchise.

Priyanka Chopra has essayed the character of Roma in both Don and Don 2. Speculations about the Don 3 have been rife for quite sometime. Some even believed that the third part of the Don franchise may never get made owing to the gossip mills that were abuzz with reports of Shah Rukh and Priyanka's alleged affair during the shoot of Don 2.

The tabloids and juicy gossip columns went into a frenzy churning out articles one after another until both SRK and PC stopped being seen in public. The rumours dies down, so did the prospects of Don 3. But recently, Ritesh Sidhwani made it loud and clear during an event of Fukrey Returns that Don 2 will happen for sure and even revealed that they're currently in the scripting process for the film.

Now, a report on Filmfare suggests that Deepika Padukone is all set to replace Priyanka Chopra in Don 3. DP and SRK have previously churned out hits like Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year and Chennai Express. The report further added that sources sgared that Shah Rukh had a word with Farhan Akhtar about having Deepika on board in Don 3 in place of Priyanka. Now, given the previous rumours, one would assume that it may be because of their history but it's apparently because Shah Rukh feels that Deepika makes for a better and more hit jodi with him since they've already churned out 3 blockbusters. So, he wants to cash in on his magical chemistry with Deepika for Don 3.

Meanwhile, Priyanka is currently shooting for season 3 of her American TV show Quantico. Wonder what she has to say to these rumoured new developments!
