Comedian Gundu Hanumantha Rao breathed his last in the early hours of Monday at his residence in Erragadda. He was suffering from Kidney related ailment since some time. Gundu Hanumantha Rao has been facing financial issues despite acting in over 400 feature films and several TV shows. He, however, refrained from seeking any help from Industry folks to safeguard self respect. Upon coming to know about his condition, Chiranjeevi had voluntarily extended financial help to the ailing Comedian.


Born in 1956 at Vijayawada, Hanumantha Rao joined Theatre at the age of 18 out of passion. He became popular with Ravana Brahma role. 'Aha Naa Pellanta' marked his debut in the Film Industry. He did memorable roles in Babai Hotel, Rajendrudu Gajendrudu, Pekata Paparao, Yamaleela, Mayalodu, Criminal, Subhalagnam, Annamayya, Kalisundam Ra, Samarasimha Reddy, Aata, Maska, Pellam Oorelithe and Others. 'Amrutham' Serial was a milestone in his career. 


The 61-Year-Old was survived by his wife and two children. Several Film Personalities have been expressing their heartfelt condolences. RIP Gundu Hanumantha Rao!
