Nushrat Bharucha, Kartik Aaryan and director Luv Ranjan have collaborated for the fourth time for Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. Except for Akaash Vani, which did not do well at the box office, the trio has tasted success with Pyaar Ka Punchnama I and II (PKP), which were sleeper hits. Now, Nushrat is hoping that their next outing together also connects with the youth. “If youngsters can relate to the story and humour, the film works,” surmises the actress.

Unlike her dumb girl act as Babu (Neha) in PKP, Nushrat’s character in Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety is grounded and real. “Sweety is today’s girl who likes simple things and is practical. She agrees to an arranged marriage with Titu, but his childhood friend, Sonu, feels threatened and starts creating problems. She takes him head-on and the two start fighting for space in Titu’s life. It’s the banter between Kartik and my character, which is new. I love this tashan,” smiles Nushrat.

Does she have the same tashan with Kartik in real life too? “I believe I’m witty with my comebacks. We have known each other for seven years and our relationship has gone through ups and downs. Some days, we are fighting while other days, we are chilling, but we genuinely enjoy working together. We get each other’s vision,” says Nushrat adding she, Kartik and Luv together are like a house on fire!

Interestingly, though the petite actress has done films like Love Sex Aur Dhokha, besides comedies, she doesn’t have any movies lined up after Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. “I feel the PKP image is so strong that people are not able to see me in a different light. I hope after this film, their perception changes. I don’t want to play roles that have me looking pretty, and where jokes are cracked at me,” she signs off.
