Gaurav Chopra and Mouni Roy were not meant to be together

The news of Gaurav Chopra and Hitisha Cheranda’s marriage took over the internet yesterday and everyone was surprised. The actor was in a steady relationship with Hitisha, who is a fashion consultant and stylist, for almost two years, but always kept it under the wraps. The hush-hush wedding that took place in Delhi on February 18, was attended by family and nobody from the television industry except Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Karan Mehra and his wife Nisha Rawal. One guest who was invited, yet missing from the event was Gaurav’s ex-girlfriend as well as close friend Narayani Shastri. Though Gaurav and Narayani were in a long-term relationship, they parted ways, but remained close friends. However, this was not the case when Gaurav broke up with Mouni. Narayani revealed to a leading entertainment portal why they could not continue being friends.

“They were not meant to be together. They two had drastically different temperaments. Mouni is a very sweet girl. But dekha jaye toh it eventually didn’t work out between Gaurav and me too na? But yeah, Mouni and Gaurav ended it differently. I want to be friends with Gaurav, but may be Mouni doesn’t think that way. But it’s ok na? Different people think differently,” said Narayani. Whatever be the case, we are too happy that Gaurav found his love in Hitisha.

Meanwhile, Narayani, who is now married to Steven Graver, was also invited to the wedding. But she couldn’t attend it as she had a shoot. She said, “Well, I was supposed to go to the wedding. But on February 18, when Gaurav got married, mere shoot ka last day tha (it was the last day of my shoot). And, I couldn’t go.” Moreover, the actress knew about Gaurav and Hitisha’s relationship and is also friends with her. She said, “Of course, I knew. Gaurav and I are still friends. I am friends with Hitisha too.” Further adding, “Hitisha is a very smart, sensible and secure girl. Gaurav loves her a lot and she doesn’t have to fear anything.”
