"She is better than me", said Divya Bharti when compared to Sridevi

Legandary Indian actress Sridevi passed away in Dubai following a massive cardiac arrest. The actress was in UAE after attending a wedding in the family. She is survived by husband Boney Kapoor and daughters, Khushi and Jahnvi. Arrangements to bring her body home are being made by the family. While we still reel over the shock that is Sridevi’s demise, we are reminded of the times when Bollywood actresses departed early from the mortal world. One such actress was Divya Bharti. She became the reigning queen of the Hindi film industry with a career spanning over just 2 years. She became extremely popular for her resemblance to Sridevi, early on in her career. But she was never perturbed by the comparison. In fact, she took it as a huge compliment to be compared with Sridevi.

When asked in an interview, what was her reaction when she was first compared to Sridevi, Divya said, “I was thrilled. I said ‘Wow! What a compliment to look so beautiful and good!'” She further revealed that she had met Sridevi only once. They did not have much of a conversation but only exchanged pleasantries.

Divya was further asked if she, too, felt she resembled the iconic actress. “No yar! She is too beautiful. She is too good. She is tall. She is good looking. She is better than me. I have got pimpled face, which make up is concealing,” How humble. Watch Divya’s interview below.

Sadly, Divya died at the tender age of 19, under mysterious circumstances. Eerily, Sridevi has passed away just a day before Divya’s birth anniversary. If you remember, Sridevi has replaced Divya in Laadla after her untimely demise.
