Mouni Roy begins workshop for Mehrunissa

Indian TV actress Mouni Roy, who was last seen as a shape-shifting snakewoman Naagin 2 is all set for her next project. The pretty actress has once again teamed up with Ekta Kapoor for her historical show Mehrunissa, which will be directed by filmmaker Ken Ghosh.

The actress has begun prepping for the show, where she will play Jehnagir's wife Nur Jahan, who was also known as Mehrunissa. Ekta Kapoor shared the pictures from the workshop on the Instagram story and captioned it, "Workshop begins."

Mouni Roy fans are excited to see the actress as Mehrunissa, who hailed from a humble background and eventually became the Mughal queen. Salim (who was later known as Jehangir) and Mehrunissa's love story was a complicated one as Mehrunissa was widowed woman when the Mughal emperor fell in love with her.After sharing the pictures from the reading session, Alt Balaji ran a poll and asked fans to choose from Nur Jehan and Mehrunissa as the title of the show. Producer Ekta Kapoor was excited for the poll, as it was a close fight between the two names. She even said that she liked Nur Jehan more but assured that the name that will garner highest number of votes will be the show's title. Until now, Mehrunissa seems to be winning the poll with 56 per cent votes.

Apart from Mehrunissa, Mouni is also busy with her two big Bollywood projects -- her debut film Gold opposite Akshay Kumar and Brahmastra along with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
