AishwaryaRaiBachchan was awarded the Meryl Streep award for excellence at WIFT

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is an actress who has an amazing career graph with movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam (1999) and Devdas (2002) in her repertoire. Hence, it comes as no surprise that the actress was the inaugural recipient of the Meryl Streep Award for Excellence at the first Women in Film and Television (WIFT) India Awards. The award ceremony took place today in Washington, D.C. and the actress was accompanied by her darling daughter Aaradhya Bachchan and mother Brinda Rai. For the WIFT Awards, Aishwarya stunned in an Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla creation which was a black gown with pleated tulle and gold embellishments all over it. Aaradhya looked like a princess in a baby pink and red ruffled gown along with a red floral hairband. Aishwarya was also seen interacting with Janhvi Kapoor who was bestowed with the WIFT Emerald Award for her earnest debut performance in Shashank Khaitan's Dhadak opposite Ishaan Khatter. Also in attendance was Gully Boy director Zoya Akhtar who received the Wyler Award for Excellence in Direction. 

Once an evergreen beauty, always an evergreen beauty!Meanwhile, Aishwarya will be reuniting with husband Abhishek Bachchan on-screen in Anurag Kashyap's Gulab Jamun. The slice-of-life movie will see the real-life married couple as a reel-life married couple. Reportedly starring Amitabh Bachchan, Gulab Jamun's storyline will chronicle three generations of a family.
