Ayushmann Khurrana on keeping Karwa Chauth for Tahira

Ayushmann Khurrana kept a Karwa Chauth fast for his wife Tahira Kashyap this year and also shared a beautiful picture on his Instagram page. During this festival, wives fast for a whole day for their husband's long life and break their fast at the moonrise. Usually, women are expected to keep the fast, but by keeping one for his wife, Ayushmann proved that such things should not be limited to just one gender. Everyone was in awe of the couple for being so loving and understanding towards each other.

 In an interview with Pinkvilla, we asked the Badhaai Ho actor what is his reaction to being called the 'Husband of the year' and when people say that he and Tahira are couple goals. Ayushmann answered, "You know, I was not expecting this kind of reaction that we will go viral or something. I just did it for my wife. I thought she will feel happy about it. And I realised the entire world is feeling happy about it (laughs). My friends have been calling and saying 'Why are you doing this to us? We are feeling pressured. We have to keep Karwa Chauth every year now because of you'. Mujhe doston se bohot gaaliyan padi hai iss chakkar mein ke yeh kya kar raha hai tu."

He added, "But I think it's high time that men should also be fasting for their wives. Why should only women fast for their husbands? It should be the other way around also. You are same. There should be no disparity."  

 When asked what was Tahira's reactions to his films, he stated, "She is happy. But again, she is fighting that's the priority right now. We make sure that the excitement doesn't get diluted. She is keeping a very happy life state. She is a very positive person so that really helps to be sane in a way."
