Nikita to star in Shahid Kapoor's next

After Kiara Advani, another actress to join the team of Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Kabir Singh is Nikita Dutta. While Shahid Kapoor has begun shooting for the film in Mumbai, it is being said that TV actress Nikita Dutta, who was last seen in the Akshay Kumar-Mouni Roy starrer Gold has joined Shahid Kapoor. A source from the sets of the film informed Mumbai Mirror, “Nikita’s character helps Shahid’s Kabir deal with depression after his break-up with girlfriend Preeti (played by Kiara Advani).”

As we told you, the shooting of Kabir Singh kick-started in October in Mumbai, and while Nikita’s portions will be shot in Mumbai, Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani will be heading to Delhi and Mussoorie to shoot other important sequences that constitute the first half of the film, the source informed. In the film, Shahid Kapoor will be essaying the role of an alcoholic surgeon who has anger management issues. After his ex ties the knot, Shahid Kapoor treads on a self-destructive path and that is when Nikita Dutta’s character steps in and helps Shahid aka Kabir Singh deal with depression. For all those who don't know, Nikita Dutta is a TV actress and she is best known for portraying the role of Suman Malhotra in the serial Ek Duje Ke Vaaste. After making her Bollywood debut in the film Lekar Hum Deewana Dil, Nikita bagged a role in Akshay Kumar-Mouni Roy starrer Gold (2018).

As we all know, Kabir Singh is the Hindi remake of Sandeep Vanga's 2017 Telugu movie Arjun Reddy and while the original movie was set in Hyderabad and Bangalore, the Hindi version will be extensively shot in Mumbai and New Delhi.

Talking about the movie, it is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Ashwin Varde and Murad Khetani. Apart from Shahid Kapoor, the movie also stars Kiara Advani in the lead role. For the first time, Shahid Kapoor will be seen romancing Kiara Advani on the silver screen. Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh will be directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who also directed Arjun Reddy and the film received critical and commercial success.
