Pre-Release Buzz: Amar Akbar Anthony is expected to be a comeback film for director Srinu Vaitla who is suffering a streak of flops. Raviteja playing triple role and Ileana acted in a Telugu film after a while. She was last seen on the Telugu screen in Trivikram’s Julayi.

The trailer gave a glimpse of revenge story served with some commercial elements. Here is our review from USA Premiers.

Story: Amar(Raviteja), The USA resident has a pathetic childhood background and goes to jail. After 14 years he returns to take revenge on the culprits who caused it way back.

Akbar(Raviteja Second Role) came from India as part of WATA(Whole America Telugu Association) programmes. He falls for event manager Pooja(Ileana) there. As the love track goes on, Ileana encounters a health problem and gets treatment from Dr. Marc Anthony(Raviteja Third Role).

How these three roles related and how revenge story continues with these threads forms the rest of the screenplay.

Analysis: Amar Akbar Anthony created good pre-release buzz with a successful combo of Raviteja-Ileana. Also, Srinu Vaitla looked confident on his film during promotions. Having a bunch of comedians in Vaitla script too looked attractive. Considering all these one would expect a decent hit from AAA.

AAA doesn’t give those high moments as per expectation, yet it doesn’t disappoint too. It has a smooth flow with lead pair childhood background, reunion with other names, a cold revenge story narration in the background and few comic scenes in between.

Raviteja was impressive in the three roles and he shows ample variation. Ileana looked gorgeous and sometimes out of the place with her heavy weight. Yet her glamour is something to stare at.

Laya played a brief role as the young heroine’s mother. Her real-life daughter and Raviteja’s son Karthik played childhood characters of Raviteja-Ileana. Sunil, Vennela Kishore, Sathya filled the comic space.

Director Srinu Vaitla picked Disassociative Multiple Personality Disorder to narrate a revenge story closely based on Childhood trauma. This point sounded well., but not executed greatly. The narration goes as regular Vatla kichidi with unnecessary comedy and serious action.

Thaman’s music was average. Except for Don Bosco, there is no much energy. Mostly music went with story flow, ends on an average note. Background score was good in action sequences.

Mythri’s branding was huge and so the presentation. Each frame looked rich and elegant.

On the final note., give it a watch for the freshness of presentation and rich taking. It’s a regular revenge story presented in lavish USA locations.

Bottom line: A Rich Revenge Story!   3.25/5
