Imtiaz Ali Unites With Ekta Kapoor to Recreate the Classic Romance

After a mixed response to Jab Harry Met Sejal, filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has now united with producer Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures for a film. The yet to be titled film will be a recreation of the classic romance of Laila Majnu, as announced on the official Twitter handle of the production house. "The epic love story is back! From the house of dream storytellers! @ektaravikapoor and Imtiaz Ali are teaming up for a modern retelling of #LailaMajnu #ImtiazAlisLailaMajnu releases on 4th May," read the tweet. Slated to be released on May 4, the film marks the first collaboration of Imtiaz and Ekta. 

Ekta too shared the news on Twitter and wrote, "Excited to recreate the epic love story, #LailaMajnu with master storyteller Imtiaz Ali. The makers also unveiled the first poster of the film. "Some love stories never die...they get retold by passionate storytellers. Presenting the teaser poster of @ektaravikapoor and #ImtiazAlisLailaMajnu. Releasing on 4th May," read the caption.
