Did Shah Rukh Khan Refuse A Film With Sanjay Leela Bhansali?

After overcoming many challenges, filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali finally released his magnum opus Padmaavat in theatres and the film is unstoppable at the box office. While everyone has been raving about the Shahid Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh starrer, there is also enough buzz around the director’s next. First we heard that he is keen on signing on Shah Rukh Khan for a love story. We next heard that Deepika might play his heroine. And latest reports suggested that Kangana Ranaut will be SRK’s heroine in Bhansali’s next.

However, it seems there’s still time till we see the Devdas director-actor jodi reunite onscreen. According to a report in DNA, SRK has politely declined an offer from the ace filmmaker. The report states that even while Shah Rukh Khan is waiting to work with Bhansali again, and the two have discussed a few scripts as well, nothing has caught Khan’s fancy as yet.

There were speculations that Bhansali had found his onscreen Sahid Ludhainvi in Shah Rukh. His love story between the lyricist and Amrita Pritam – Gustakhiyaan was one of his pet projects and he was waiting to start on it post Padmaavat. However, it seems like the film is not on anvil as of now at least. SRK is currently busy shooting for Aanand L Rai’s Zero and he is also looking into the VFX for the film. Word around town is that post the dismal success of his last films, Badshah Khan is anxious about this project and wants it to fly at the box office and hence he is focusing all his energies on this one, before taking on anything else.

There is also buzz that he has plans to take his production house Red Chillies to the next level and also produce digital content and hence he may not be signing on any new film, in order to take a break and devote time to his home banner. Well, there is no official confirmation as yet and so the hope is still alive to see SRK in a Bhansali film again, soon.
